Funny Poem Retirement

Welcome to the funny poem retirement page. I hope you enjoy reading and sharing the retirement poem below.

I’ve Heard

I’ve heard that retirement is often quite boring.
Unless you enjoy spending afternoons snoring.
With no one to answer to, and no place to be,
you might as well float out to sea.

I’ve heard that retirement often leads to death.
Not just ‘cause you’re old and often out of breath.
But because you’re so bored and no longer have drive.
I guess you should enjoy these last days you’re alive.

I’ve heard that retirement means no more spending.
There goes all of that money you’re lending.
I recently did some gambling, and had a losing streak.
Do you mind if I pay back what I owe you next week?

We may all say what we "heard" about retirement. But until we experience it, won't be able to fully explain. At the same time, we can still make fun of it, and those that are retiring. While they are probably make fun of us, because we still have to work. So it's surely a catch-22.

Just make sure the person that you share the above poem with has a very healthy sense of humor. It will also help if you are close to this person. Otherwise you may want to choose another funny retirement poem.

When do you plan on retiring? Do you know what you are going to do? Many people do a lot of volunteering once they retire. It's funny how we volunteer prior to entering the workforce and once we're done we go back to it. Maybe that's just human nature. Maybe we are simply programmed to help one another.

We can debate that topic all day, but instead lets print this poem from the top of the funny poem retirement page and share it.
