Last Minute
It’s Christmas Eve and I’m in a tizzy.
Endless baking and shopping has made me dizzy.
But I forgot a gift for cousin Lizzy,
so back to the mall that’s still so busy.
I haven’t even begun my wrapping,
like a headless chicken my arms are flapping.
Our husbands spend the whole season napping,
while we scramble about this close to snapping.
But even though I’m about to lose my mind,
this Christmas card to you I’ve signed.
In my heart forever you will be enshrined,
as the best friend a woman could ever find.

I can totally relate to this poem written by Angela. When I was younger and still living with my parents, my mother experienced very similar Christmas Eve's. She was always running around and doing a million things at once. She would being preparing dinner for the whole family by getting up at 4am.
Just like the poem mentions, she was always very close to snapping. But she managed to stay in control,and everything always worked out. She would be signing christmas cards while cooking at the same time.
If she needed a certain incredient, she would send me out to get it. Sometimes she would send me to the malls to get a last minute gift for someone that she forgot. Now that was really fun. It usually took me about five hours to find it. While dad was napping.
